Edward V and Edward VIII have a few things in common. First of all, they were both named Edward. Second, they were both English kings. Third, they are both dead guys. But they also share another distinction. They are the only English kings that we can say this about. What is this unique shared quality?

Neither were crowned. The only Kings never to be crowned. Neither were Empress Matilda or Lady Jane Grey but they would not have been crowned kings.
And we have a winner! In record time too. t4tudor (And tudor for tea? Love it.) is spot on, and quite correct about the ladies too. A great big hoot is made in t4tudor's general direction (ahem . . . HOOT!) and he (she? I know not) joins our short list of Steely-Eyed Missile Men.
